Straight stylus with Ø2 mm, diamond sphere Ø1 mm, tapered tungsten carbide stem Ø0.8/2 mm, length 22 mm. For use on coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

The stylus is an important part of the measuring system. During the measurement, the stylus is in direct contact with the part.
Straight styli are the most common type used in the metrology industry. Depending on the application, different materials for stems and tips are available.
Diamond is the hardest material available for styli tips and highly wear resistant. It is perfect for scanning aluminium parts, as it does not create material build-up. Diamond styli are either solid or coated.
A tungsten carbide stem has high stiffness and less thermal expansion, compared to stainless steel.
